All Holy Spirit Greek Orthodox Church

All Holy Spirit Greek Orthodox Church

Our parish is a young community with a new space on 193rd and Harney Street, just off Dodge Street. We have a new Temple built in Honor of the Holy Trinity and named in honor of the 3rd Person the Holy Spirit. This name was given to us by our hierarch, Metropolitan Isaiah, to encourage dedication to the Gospel, specifically, in attaining the light and life and power of the Spirit of God the Father. We were also tasked to share this Light as modern-day missionaries of our Apostolic and Ancient Orthodox Faith, the oldest among churches, that most Americans know very little about.

Our Temple is built according to a traditional Byzantine prototype, and the rest of our buildings are modern, demonstrating the bridge to the past and the continuity of the future.

Our parish family is diverse with many ethnicities from Traditional Orthodox heritage from Eastern Europe, Middle East, Africa and Greece, but, surprisingly, 50% are former Roman Catholics and Protestants!

Our parish is administered by ordained men of Apostolic Succession, with Archbishop, +Elpidephoros of the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese of America, Metropolitan +Constantine of Denver, and parish priest, Fr. Alexander.

Join us for Divine Liturgy at 9:30am at our Temple, located at 450 South 193rd Street, Elkhorn, Nebraska.

Watch the recap of the "Opening of the Doors Service" lead by His Grace Bishop Constantine of Sassima, (now His Eminence Metropolitan Constantine) of the Holy Metropolis of Denver. This momentous and emotional day started with Orthros in the Community Engagement Venue on the west side of the courtyard. At the close of Orthros, the congregation processed across the courtyard, led by the acolytes, His Grace Bishop Constantine and Father Alexander, to the Exo-Narthex outside the impressive, closed wood carved doors. His Grace then led the congregation in prayer, asking God to bless all the people and the new church building. His Grace then sprinkled the exterior of the church, the wood carved doors and those present with Holy Water. His Grace then proceeded to open the doors, leading the congregation inside to celebrate the Divine Liturgy in the new church. This service symbolizes the completion of construction and represents the official recognition from the Archdiocese that the new church is now “open” and fully celebrating the Divine Liturgy. At the completion of the Divine Liturgy everyone returned to the Community Engagement Venue for a celebratory luncheon. Thank you to AHS Parishioner and Cinematographer James Kriha of Kriha Films for filming and producing this film
